For a 2nd year, Four Corners Community Bank has reached out to students in the local communities with its Teach Children to Save, which is a part of the American Bankers Four Corners Community Bank reached out to students in both San Juan County and Montezuma counties as a part of the America Bankers Associations national initiative to Teach Children to Save.
Last year, volunteers from Four Corners Community Bank visited with students in the Four Corners area. This year, volunteers from the bank will reach over 200 students from schools in the Four Corners area including Mancos Elementary.
Headed up by Jessica Finocchio, Marketing Manager, the bank volunteers cater each school presentation to the needs of the students. They address financial topics such as; the value of money, how it circulates through the community, checkbook and savings skills, among other financial topics. They get the kids involved with learning activities and interactive scenarios with real-life examples.
For children under 18 years of age, FCCB offers a Minor Savings Account as an interest-bearing savings account option to assist the youth in the community to save for their future. For students over 18 years of age, FCCB offers three checking accounts and one savings account to keep kids on a positive track to savings. The Bank will soon offer Mobile Banking to its customers as another form of convenience in banking.
