There will be a bake sale fundraiser on Saturday, April 21, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at both the east and west entrances of Walmart. Dakota Roth, a sophomore at Montezuma-Cortez High School, has been selected to represent Cortez at the National Student Leadership Conference this summer. NSLC students are chosen based on outstanding academic achievement, and participation in this conference is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these exceptional students. Dakota will be attending the week-long Mastering Leadership Conference at the University of California, Berkeley in July, and needs to raise nearly $3,000 to cover the cost of tuition and transportation costs.
