A hello from Chicago, and I wish I were writing this letter under happier circumstances.
My family and I visited Mesa Verde National Park, spending the night in Mancos. This seemed to be a quiet, nice town; an ideal spot with a great location to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city while enjoying some of our nation’s beloved historical landmarks.
Sadly, our vacation was disrupted by the town brewery and its drunken revelers driving in and out. Both my wife and I were shocked and disturbed by the sheer volume emanating from this venue.
When I contacted the local law enforcement on two separate occasions, nothing happened.
It has become clear that there are no noise ordinances in place to prevent this type of noise from happening.
I’m saddened to report that my family and I will not be returning to Mancos. With this kind of unpleasant experience, your area is sure to lose tourist dollars.
Please, if you live in Mancos or surrounding areas, do yourself a favor. Enact a noise ordinance in your town!
My family and I cut our visit short and surely we are not the first. Plan for sensible growth and make your town a friendly experience.
