Col. Tom Greco USA (Retired) from Cascade, Idaho, will present his personal experiences leading an air assault infantry battalion task force deep behind enemy lines during Operation Desert Storm at an upcoming Christian Womens Celebrations event. CWC invites the public to attend the Tribute to Heroes chuckwagon dinner and presentation on Friday, May 4, at 6 p.m. at the County Annex in Cortez. The Bar-D Wranglers from Durango will entertain with their western music and comedy.
Col. Greco served in the U.S. Army in peace and war. His assignments included various staff and command positions in Europe, the United States, Southwest Asia and the Republic of Panama. His many awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star for Valor, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Combat Infantrymans badge, the Airborne and Air Assault badges, the Ranger Tab and numerous other awards and ribbons. He is a 1972 West Point graduate and has a masters degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Army War College. Since retiring in 1996, Colonel Greco served as dean of students for a community college and as an officer in a private family foundation in Boise. He also serves on various boards, soldier and veteran support organizations, and various local community organizations. He is a former trustee for Seattle Pacific University and served on the George Fox Seminary Board of Regents. He is a lead faculty member with the University of Phoenix. Col. Greco was recently inducted as a Distinguished Member of the 187th Infantry Regiment by the Secretary of The Army.
The dinner, catered by Seasnings, will include the meal, beverage, dessert, and program for $20 per person. Seating is limited but a number of complimentary tickets are available for first-time CWC event attendees, veterans, and active duty military. Reservations are required by Saturday, April 28.
