I would like to thank many residents in and around the area of Cortez for their help in trying to recover our Australian shepherd after he fled the fireworks on the Fourth of July.
The folks at the city shelter were very patient with us as we visited and called daily. The search dogs and handlers gave us excellent information about where to concentrate our search.
Thank you to Kim and Allie, Marissa and Sadie, and Shannon and Molly for the hours they have devoted to tracking and following up leads.
Pam and David, Bob, Ron, and Carol either searched or called us when they spotted a likely dog. Numerous visitors from the Denver area also called when they saw the flyers and thought they saw our dog. Thank you to everyone who had compassion for us and our dog.
The search continues. Danny is in the Cortez area unless someone has removed him by vehicle. We are in California but would come back to reclaim him if he is found. I am forever grateful for the encouraging words, expressions of hope and condolence, and even the pats and hugs I received from citizens of Cortez. Thank you to the veterinarians who are still keeping their eyes out. I appreciate Cortez and its people even more, now, than I did when we arrived in May.
