Editor:
Is the Mac Myers who submitted a letter to the editor on March 17 the same Mark Mac Myers who was appointed to the district attorney position in June 2010 to replace Jim Wilson? This Myers had lost to Wilson in 2010. According to the Dove Creek Press, Nov. 7, 2010, In the 22nd Judicial District, Russell Wasley (R) beat Mac Myers (D) locally, as well as in Montezuma County, with an estimated 60 percent of the votes overall. I was unable to locate an article in the Journal although it must have been reported. If this is the same person, I am not surprised that he would support Will Furse. Has he aspirations of being an assistant to Mr. Furse?
The saying, Actions speak louder than words, is so true. At the ag expo, one particular disturbing action occurred. A petitioner, when asking a person if he would be interested in signing a petition to place Russell Wasley on the ballot, was told, I am a police officer. Does that tell you anything? When did attempts of intimidation enter the contest? I have been told, I have heard things from the police. Yet, things wont be defined.
In my years of experience, I have learned that I need to go to the source if I want to know the truth. I urge anyone who has heard things to go to the source. I urge you to contact Russell Wasley to learn the truth. He is more than willing to talk with any and everyone. He is so honest and has so much integrity that we werent even allowed to pay for his lunch when we had a group of four guests. That might be considered a bribe.
