Three outstanding local high school seniors have been selected by their schools to be the DAR Good Citizen for 2012. Recipients of the award were Devin Kroeker of Mancos High School (right); Kendell Knuckles of Dolores County High School (left); and Kasey Schurr, also of Dolores High School (not pictured). Students who are selected must have demonstrated the characteristics of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. An awards luncheon for the students and their families was hosted by Sleeping Ute Mountain Chapter DAR on Saturday, Feb. 25. DAR is a womens service organization whose members have ancestors who served in the American Revolution.
