The words thank you often seem inadequate to show someones gratitude and appreciation. I know that I find those words seem very inadequate for the amount of love, caring, blessings and prayers that this community has shown to me and my family since I was diagnosed with cancer in August. I tried to keep track of everyone who helped, brought meals, worked on and attended benefits, but the blessings were overwhelming, and I simply cannot remember everyone who came forward. However, I would like to publicly thank everyone that did. For every meal that continued to nourish me and my family during and after surgeries and for continuing to make sure that my family was taken care of when I was in the hospital. I want to say thank you to my family at the Cortez Police Department and City of Cortez for donations of sick leave, for having my back and taking care of me. For all my brothers in blue and black and gray that shaved their heads to adopt my new hair style in a show of love and support. You have no idea how much that meant to me. For all of my friends at the Montezuma-Cortez School District and Montezuma-Cortez High School, for the videos, the huge cards, for the visits, and everything you and the students did, to bless me and make me smile. Thank you for every card, note, gift and visit that always lifted my spirit. There are simply not enough words to thank all of you that assisted in fund raising efforts to help alleviate the stress of hospital bills on our family. Martina McBride recently released a song titled I Am Going to Love You Through It. The song speaks of a woman with cancer and the love that saw her through the journey. Every time I hear that song I am reminded I have had an entire community who have lifted me up in prayer and loved me through a very difficult journey. I dont know why I am so blessed, but I am grateful for each and every one of you, and I promise that I believe that we should pay every blessing forward. So thank you each and every one of you and may the Lord bless and keep you all.
