The Cortez Public Library’s Literary Fridays presents a tour of Rocky Mountain National Park with Dave Lively, a Colorado historian and tour guide on Friday, July 21, at 10 a.m.
Lively, whose family homesteaded in what is now the Grand Lake entrance to the park, is conducting seminars and tours for Rocky Mountain National Park, Rocky Mountain Conservancy, Trail River Ranch education center and History Colorado. He appears in the PBS documentary “The Living Dream: 100 Years of Rocky Mountain National Park,” about Rocky Mountain National Park’s origins.
In “Rocky’s West Side Stories,” Lively tells about the recurring themes of survival and success for the past 11,000 years of the park’s mountain valley, including a snapshot of how pioneers lived.
