Rep. Scott Tipton refuses to vote to stop arming and training and funding terrorists.
H.R. 608, the Stop Arming Terrorists Act, was introduced by Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, on Jan. 23. The bill doesn’t have any crazy strings attached and its original cosponsors are a mix of Republicans and Democrats, highlighting that it transcends party lines.
Tipton refuses to support this bill. He will not vote for it. He therefore advocates, by default, arming ISIS and al-Qaida, which the U.S. has been doing for over six years now in Syria and elsewhere.
The only thing this bill does is prohibit the U.S. government from giving money and weapons to people who want to murder Americans and who do murder innocent men, women and children across the globe. It is quite possibly the simplest and most rational bill ever proposed by Congress.
What this lack of support for the bill shows is that the federal government is addicted to funding terror and has no intention of ever stopping it.
President Trump, just like Obama and Bush before him, and Tipton, will continue to foster the growth of terrorism to enrich those who profit from war. I do not want Scott Tipton representing Colorado anymore for this and many other reasons.
