8:42 a.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 29000 block of County Road P.5 on suspicion of third-degree criminal trespassing after a man and a woman claimed he had been lying under their car in their driveway after being trespassed from the house.
2:25 p.m.: A man turned himself in to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant.
Friday, June 23
3:11 p.m.: A man was served with three warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
6:17 p.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer after deputies responded to a call in the 25000 block of County Road G. She reportedly brandished a fuel pump handle at deputies when they tried to talk to her, and yelled at them to “stay away.” She was arrested after reportedly wrestling with another woman and trying to kick the arresting officers.
Saturday, June 24
2:47 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 10000 block of County Road BB, Pleasant View, on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after his girlfriend claimed he had grabbed her by the arms and pushed her.
3:20 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 6000 block of County Road 25 on a warrant for a probation violation after the vehicle in which he was a passenger was pulled over for failure to stop at a stop sign and weaving. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, because he said he was having extreme anxiety. The vehicle’s driver reportedly refused to show his license or registration or get out of his vehicle until the responding officers threatened to break his windshield. He was given a verbal warning for the traffic violations.
7:19 a.m.: A deputy responded to a report of a wounded deer in the 4000 block of County Road 21. Two of the deer’s legs were broken, so the responding deputy shot it to put it out of its misery and removed it from the road.
11:12 p.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 7000 block of County Road 25 on suspicion of DUI after he was pulled over for driving a motorized bike with no lights on it.
Sunday, June 25
1:56 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of North 15th Street, Dolores, on suspicion of criminal mischief, domestic violence and two counts of child abuse after deputies were asked to remove him from an apartment building due to severe intoxication. His girlfriend claimed he had yanked the phone out of her hands when she tried to call Cortez Dispatch, and had punched a wall in their house, creating a large dent. Two children were in the room with the couple at the time.
12:44 p.m.: A woman was cited for harassment and third-degree criminal trespass, and a man was cited for prohibited use of firearms in the 21000 block of County Road C after deputies responded to a report of a gun being fired. The woman said she had entered the property to find her dog, which had been missing for two days. She said three people had yelled at her to leave, including the man, who she said had fired a shotgun twice as she was driving away.
