A presentation on the Climate Reality Project will be given on Saturday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the Cortez Cultural Center in Cortez, 25 N. Market St.
The mission of the Climate Reality Project is to provide information about a global solution to the climate crisis and promote urgent action across every level of society. It is led by Nobel Peace Prize winner and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore.

The local presentation arranged by the League of Women Voters of Montezuma County will be provided by Rebecca Levy. Levy is the director of the Cortez Cultural Center and received training in early 2017 to be part of the Climate Reality Project Leadership Corps, which extends into 100 countries. She has been involved in local governments on the West Slope since 2004 and has a master’s degree in political science and public policy with a focus on local land use and environmental policy.
The program will be in the conference room on the second floor of the Cortez Cultural Center with access by exterior stairs on the west side of the building and by elevator at the back of the gift shop. The center is open at 10 a.m.
