Dear Editor:
The 2011 Christmas Dinner was held on Christmas Day at the County Annex in Cortez. The dinner is put together entirely by volunteers. I want to thank everyone who volunteered. A lot of planning and hard work by a lot of people paid off with a very successful event.
A lot of people and businesses donated food and/or their labor to make this event a success. There was very nice seasonal music and a very festive atmosphere present. The Annex was decorated in a seasonal manner. Meals were delivered to people who could not come to the Annex. The Cortez Cultural Center coordinated the event and served as a central communication point. Also, Montezuma County provided the venue.
The entire community came together and showed what can be done when people work together. This is truly an event that the Four Corners Community can be proud to participate in every year.
