A third-generation team of home builders, Palo Duro Homes, is now open for business in Cortez, according to its Colorado sales manager John Avery and its Cortez sales-team leader Steve Blackwell.
A long-time resident and active community member in Cortez, Blackwell said he truly believes in the company, and thats why hes chosen to lead a team of top salesmen to sell Palo Duro houses in Cortez.
We dont need a job, but we know a whole lot of people that need a house, Blackwell said about one of the reasons his sales team has opened a Palo Duro office in Cortez.
Palo Duro Homes offers stick built and stuccoed homes with technology that offers 100-percent green, energy-efficient houses, Blackwell said.
Most homes have an insulation factor of R19, our walls have an insulation factor of R30 theyre over insulated, Blackwell said. And our ceilings are R50.
Every aspect of Palo Duro homes, from the ceilings to the windows, are built air tight, Avery said. Because of this energy-efficient construction, the company guarantees no two points in any of their homes will vary more than three degrees in temperature.
Ive never heard any one in the industry that dared to make a claim like that, Avery said. So many elements of our construction, just in the build itself, our insulation, our engineering, all those things really set us apart.
The homes are not only air tight, but the houses are built to evacuate inside air and bring fresh, outdoor air in every three hours through a special, three-filter system, Avery said.
We have the same air-filtration systems they use in ... many of the hospitals, he said.
Palo Duro homes can be built to consume 100 percent solar energy, and the company offers about 25 floor plans, Blackwell said.
We can build them on your land or ours, Blackwell said as to where their houses can be built.
A Palo Duro home is under construction on County Road L in Montezuma County, he said.
Their homes vary in price from $150,000 to $300,000 depending on what the homebuyer wants, Blackwell said.
