9:57 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of possessing alcohol in the park.
10:15 p.m.: A man was arrested at Aneth Lodge, 645 E. Main St., on suspicion of trespassing. The responding officer said it was the third time he had been warned about trespassing on the property that day.
Wednesday, May 3
9:49 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road.
2:46 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road.
3:15 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. MIldred Road.
8:26 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of East Main Street on two warrants for failure to appear.
11:15 p.m.: Two men were arrested outside City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of third-degree assault after witnesses reported they had repeatedly punched another man. One of the suspects was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries he reportedly sustained in a fall while running from a responding officer, and for exposure to pepper spray, before being taken to jail.
Thursday, May 4
4:15 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 80 block of South Harrison Street on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. A meth pipe was found in his pocket, and a rolled-up dollar bill and a baggie containing methamphetamine were found in his vehicle.
6:06 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 1300 block of Acoma Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge after a neighbor reported a noise complaint about the house where she was staying.
10:37 a.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of domestic violence and obstruction of telephone service after store employees reported he had taken his girlfriend’s phone during a loud verbal argument. The man said the incident occurred because he didn’t take his anxiety medication that day.
5:37 p.m.: A man reported a bicycle theft outside Underwood Optical, 22 N. Beech St. He said his Gary Fisher Rumblefish bike, which was valued between $2,000 and $6,000, went missing sometime between 12:10 and 1:30 p.m. The case remains under investigation.
9:42 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 East Main Street on a warrant for failure to appear on an out-of-county felony.
11:12 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of South Market Street on suspicion of DUI, careless driving and failure to drive in a single lane. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being transferred to the jail, due to extreme intoxication.
Friday, May 5
1:10 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of East Montezuma Avenue on suspicion of robbery, a protection order violation and second-degree assault after another man reported he and a second suspect had beaten him unconscious and taken his backpack. The first suspect was found lying next to a backpack matching the alleged victim’s description, with his clothes covered in blood. The man who reported the incident suffered serious facial injuries, including a broken nose. Police were unable to immediately locate the other suspect in the case.
2 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the parking lot of City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of DUI and DUI per se after she was pulled over for appearing to be in a fight with her male passenger.
11:57 a.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 2700 block of Golf Course Drive on suspicion of a dog at large violation and failure to provide a city dog owner’s license.
2:52 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed she had taken $134.71 in merchandise over a period of about a month, during which she was employed at the store.
8:21 p.m.: A man was arrested at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.
Saturday, May 6
1:21 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of South Madison Street on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment after his wife and sister reported he had thrown both of them around a bedroom during an argument.
9:49 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. Store employees said she had taken more than $500 in merchandise since December of 2016, while she was employed at the store. The woman said she had mostly taken food items to give to her boyfriend, who she said was incapable of caring for himself.
Sunday, May 7
2:07 a.m.: A man was arrested near the intersection of Market and Main Streets on suspicion of DUI, weaving and displaying fictitious plates. He refused to perform roadside sobriety tests, and when asked to do so, asked the responding officer if he had permission to cry, saying that his grandmother had died that day. The license plate on his vehicle was from another vehicle and had expired in 2012.
9:32 a.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 500 block of North Harrison Street. A woman said the gate on her property had been damaged and the latch broken. The case remains under investigation, but the responding officer reported the damage may have been caused by the strong winds that blew through the area the night before.
3:52 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.
5 p.m.: Police responded to a report of theft in the 500 block of South Madison Street. A woman said her ex-boyfriend had stolen her cell phone, valued at $89, and her food stamp card, which had about $187 on it. She also said he had pushed her down onto a couch, covered her face with a pillow, shoved his fingers and then a meth pipe down her throat to stop her from screaming and hit her in the head multiple times. She said he had threatened her with a gun he had in a nearby bag while he was taking her belongings. The woman had several bruises on her face and neck. Police were unable to immediately locate the ex-boyfriend, but they requested a warrant for his arrest on charges of second-degree assault, felony menacing, domestic violence, a protection order violation and theft.
Monday, May 8
1:09 p.m.: A man was arrested at Wendy’s, 221 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order. He reportedly got angry and argued with responding officers throughout the arrest, saying he was only being arrested because the protected party was “a pretty female.”
2:46 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting and trespassing. Store employees claimed she had tried to take $63.56 of merchandise after she had already been trespassed from the property. Another woman was issued a summons and a trespass notice after employees said she tried to take $123.86 in merchandise.
3:18 p.m.: A woman was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
