DMR volunteer ski and snowboard instructors
The Adaptive Sports Association in Durango is seeking volunteers to teach skiing and snowboarding to people with disabilities this winter. People can make a difference in students lives, meet great people, and earn discounted lift tickets and Durango Mountain Resort. No experience is necessary, but volunteers must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders. Training is free, and volunteers earn discounted skiing at DMR. Internships earning college credit can also be arranged with ASA. Interested volunteers (both new and returning) should attend one of two orientation meetings, which will be held on Thursday and Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Durango Recreation Center. Returning volunteers will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. and new volunteers will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. For more information, please call the ASA office at 970-259-0374 or email [email protected].
