10:40 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on two warrants for failure to appear.
11:47 a.m.: A man and a woman were arrested at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on warrants for failure to appear.
2:16 p.m.: A man and a woman were arrested in the 600 block of South Broadway on suspicion of domestic violence and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The man accused the woman of ramming her car into his truck, and the woman accused the man of smashing her car window with a shovel and throwing dog poop at her. About $500 of damage was done to the truck, and the car had a broken window. A methamphetamine pill was also found in the woman’s pocket.
Thursday, April 6
12:22 a.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of driving while impaired and disregarding a stop sign in the 10 block of South Beech Street.
10:37 a.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 700 block of North Market Street on suspicion of a dog at large violation and maintaining an animal that disturbed the peace. A couple claimed the man’s dog had attacked theirs. Police told the man he would have to pay the dog’s veterinary bills, which amounted to $420.27.
12:39 p.m.: A man turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant.
1:24 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 10000 block of East Main Street on a warrant for failure to appear.
1:55 p.m.: Two juveniles were issued summonses on suspicion of shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees said they had tried to walk out with several items from the cosmetic, household and apparel departments. One of the juveniles had been served with a trespass notice at Wal-Mart, so she also received a trespassing summons.
3:44 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 100 block of South Ash Street on a warrant for failure to appear.
Friday, April 7
8:34 a.m.: A man reported a theft at Town and Country Furniture, 38 N. Linden St. He said a large metal fence was stolen from the alley outside the business, where it had been placed during construction inside the building. The case remains under investigation.
8:53 a.m.: A man reported an incident of criminal mischief at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1700 E. Empire St. Five windows had small holes in them, apparently from being shot with a pellet gun. The windows were valued at $1,500 total. The case remains under investigation.
12:45 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court on a warrant for failure to appear.
2:18 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Wal-Mart, 1835 E. Main St. Store employees claimed he had tried to leave with about $134 worth of children’s clothes, antifreeze and motor oil. The man, who was with his 2-year-old son, said he was trying to get clothes for him because times were tough. When confronted by police, he asked if he could just pay for the items with a $100 bill, but they told him it was too late.
7:03 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 20 block of North Park Street on suspicion of disturbing the peace after witnesses reported he had hit an older man. The older man did not want to press charges, but police arrested the man who reportedly hit him. After being arrested, he passed out due to extreme intoxication and was treated at the Southwest Memorial Hospital emergency room before being transported to the jail.
8:57 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of trespassing after he reported someone had hit him. He was unable to give a description of the person who hit him due to a high level of intoxication, and police arrested him when he refused to leave the store after employees had asked him to be trespassed from the property.
10:38 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 2000 block of East Main Street on suspicion of trespassing and violating bond conditions. He was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital to be treated for extreme intoxication before he was taken to jail.
