Southwest Colorado and eastern Utah will be under a wind advisory from 1 p.m. to midnight Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
Winds between 20 and 35 mph are expected with gusts up to 50 mph.
Cortez, Mancos, Dove Creek, Nucla and Blanding, Utah will be affected, according to the weather service. Most of Western Colorado will experience high winds, as far north as Dinosaur National Monument. Eastern Utah also will be affected, as far north as Vernal, according to the weather service.
Stronger winds are expected later Saturday afternoon. Saturday in Cortez will be partly cloudy with a high near 65, according to Accuweather. The low will be around 34, and there is a possibility of a storm in the afternoon.
Sunday will be partly cloudy with a high temperature around 53, and the low will be around 21.
