The Bureau of Land Management Colorado Tres Rios Field Office is seeking the public’s help in reviewing its road and trail inventory in Montezuma, La Plata, Archuleta, Dolores, San Miguel and Montrose counties.
The field office recently completed a comprehensive look at the roads and trails it manages, which covers about a half-million acres.
Public review will help ensure the inventory is as accurate as possible and to identify routes that may have missed, providing the framework for a proposed travel network.
“If there are roads and trails out there that are special to you, we’d like to hear about them,” said Tres Rios Field Manager Connie Clementson.
“We’re not making decisions at this time, just verifying and correcting information.”
The BLM is receiving comments for the route inventory in Montezuma County through June 1.
Inventories for La Plata, Archuleta, Dolores, San Miguel and Montrose counties will be available for viewing on April 5, and comments for these route inventories can be submitted through Oct. 1.
To help the public review and comment on the routes, the BLM developed a web-based interactive map illustrating each inventoried route.
The public can provide feedback by submitting the electronic form online, by downloading the form and returning it via email to [email protected] or mailing the form to BLM Tres Rios Field Office, 29211 Highway 184, Dolores, CO 81323 (include “TCCM Cortez” in the subject line).
