Dear Editor:
Unless you are a mind reader, the only way that you can know what others want is by listening to what they actually say or do, and in this case not one Republican has said that they wanted to ax Social Security. Conversely, Democrats raised taxes on SSI, effectively reducing the real amount of money earned by seniors on SSI under Clinton. Obama, Pelosi and Reid cut Medicaid/Medicare so that they could pass Obamacare. Actions speak louder than unsubstantiated claims that Republicans want to cut programs for seniors. Why do leftists support Democrats that have done exactly what they condemn Republicans for allegedly wanting?
Defending this nation is constitutional, according to the Constitution, and in not responsible for the debt crisis. People have paid with blood to defend constitutional liberty, yet the Democrats want to take it away. Ending unconstitutional spending will lead to the prosperity we all desire. Corporations dont pay tax regardless of the rate, because they just pass the increases on to the consumers. Taxes discourage people from developing things like alternative energy so as long there are high taxes oil will be the only game in town.
We should start by cutting all unconstitutional spending, then and only then, if we are still in debt, should we cut constitutional spending like defense.
