Ramon Brown and Allene Minard were married 60 years ago on July 20, 1951, in Pennsylvania. The oil fields brought the couple west to eventually settle in the Four Corners area, where Ramon pursued and retired from a career as heavy equipment field superintendent. Allene was a full-charge bookkeeper while raising five boys. The children and their families will be gathering at the Brown home to celebrate this diamond anniversary of 60 years of love and endurance. A reception for the couple with family, church family and friends invited to drop by and provide well wishes will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Cortez Church of Christ Annex, 631 E.
