Competing at the Center Invitational in Monte Vista on March 17, the Mancos High School boys and girls track teams enjoyed solid results.
The Bluejay boys were led by freshman Caden Showalter, who finished first in the discus (122 feet, 3 inches) and third in the shot put (39 feet, 10 inches).
The Bluejays also received solid performances from Anthony Medina, who finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (25.19) and ninth in the 100-meter dash (12.32) and Nic Baikie, who finished sixth in the 3200-meter run (11:59.46).
Other Top 10 finishers included Caden Galloway, who placed seventh in the high jump (5 feet, 4 inches) and Hunter Hoover, eighth in the high jump (5 feet, 2 inches).
The boys finished 10th out of 21 teams. Salida finished first overall.
Ashely Cole, who placed seventh in the 400-meter dash (1:11.65), led the girls. Other top-ten finishers for the Lady Jays included Emma Most, who finished ninth in the 3200-meter run (14:25.79) and Brittney Peacock, 10th in the 3200-meter run (14:58.40).
The girls finished 20th in the 20-team meet. Salida High School finished first.
