Mesa Verde National Park will offer a free winter ecology hike, “End of Winter Wildflower Walk,” at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, recommended for participants 12 and older.
Participants will meet at the Soda Canyon Overlook trailhead on the Cliff Palace loop, near the Balcony House parking area, and learn about how plants survive during winter and benefits of blooming early. Be prepared to spend two to three hours outdoors, and bring extra layers, water and snacks.
Registration is required. To join, call the Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum at 529-4631.
The hike is limited to 15 people.
