A family home burned to the ground Monday night southeast of Ignacio.
The fire was reported about 7:30 p.m. by neighbors, said Tom Aurnhammer, chief of the Los Pinos Fire Protection District. By the time firefighters arrived, the single-story home with a basement was fully engulfed, he said. Firefighters have not determined the cause.
The family was not at home, and no one was injured in the blaze, including pets, Aurnhammer said. He did not have an address or the name of the family when reached Tuesday afternoon. Upper Pine and Durango fire protection districts also responded.
