It appears that the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Montezuma County are determined to close Roads BB & 16 at their intersection with U.S. Highway 491 despite the negative reaction from the people who live in the area.
In the push to show how dangerous the intersection is, they even published a photo of an accident that was actually two miles away.
The one fatality that occurred near the intersection was caused by a driver making a U-turn on the highway, not by the intersection.
I am very disappointed that our county commissioners would go against the wishes of the people they serve. They need to hear from all of us.
As for the people who think they are not involved because it is not their road, the next time it may be your road.
