The Southwestern Cowbelles met at the Elks Lodge at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, for their monthly meeting. Seventeen members were present, and the minutes from the February meeting were approved, as was the treasury report.

Mary Ellen McComb reported on the napkins that they will be going to print soon.

Sammie Coulon reported on the quilt raffle. Thanks to all who bought tickets. Winners were Gordon Steves, who won the quilt, and Dan Fernandez, Steve Hinton, Chan Chaffin and Carol Haygood, who won the beef gift certificates.

The Education Committee reported that the books provided by Colorado Cattlewomen are being placed in the schools. Southwestern Cowbelles and Southwestern Cattleman are offering two scholarships to teachers to attend the Food, Fiber, and More Summer Institute. The election of officers was held: Beverly Humiston was elected president, Lisa Tozer was elected vice president, Sue Simmons was elected secretary, Pat Rule was elected treasurer, Sammie Coulon was elected reporter, and Tammy Russell was elected historian.

Southwestern Cowbelles will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the Presbyterian Church.
