For more than a year now I have watched in silence as this newspaper partook in the devastation of my family and in particular, my brother, William (Bill) Gary Conner. Statements made by both women during a previous investigation where one of them accused someone else of the same thing have shown that they lied about everything. That is why the case was dismissed!
Bill Conner did nothing to either of them! I get it, the Journal was not given all the facts, although they couldn’t have been that hard to obtain. Your goal is to sell newspapers.
But I think I can speak for at least a portion of Montezuma County residents when I say — just give us the facts! The Journal is not the Star or the Globe and this is not Hollywood. I would also like to point out that in America, a person is innocent until proven guilty.
Your defamation of William Conner is detestable. Those of you out there who have played judge and jury, God forbid you ever have someone falsely accuse you of something serious and you have to endure what William Conner has. Our family has resided in Montezuma County for more than four generations and we have certainly found out who our true friends are.
Anyone who knew Bill Conner knows he would never commit such horrible crimes.
