One needs to be very careful when advocating zoning. Our private property rights are sacred and nothing is more detrimental to them than zoning. It is not a good thing to buy property only to find that your neighbors are going to tell you what you can or can not do with it.
The liberal would like to have a set of rules to cover every thing in life only to wake up one day to discover that all of his rights are in the trash can. He will then say but I did not intend these rules for me only the other guy.
