Jeremy Lyman (Journal, Aug. 4) did a great job of patting himself on the back, but he came up quite short in his description of devastation to the Blanding community.
I haven’t been around as long as Blanding natives but I have enjoyed hiking the area for two decades. I can remember when I first started, I wouldn’t see another car or person the entire day in early spring. Nowadays it has been discovered. People who are unhappy with the crowds in Moab are creating their own crowds now in south San Juan County.
They are not just coming, Jeremy, they are here. Might as well install a few more protective regulations.
Blanding will thrive from visitor/tourist dollars.
