A benefit for Western Colorado Agriculture Resource Center, the Colorado Hemp Fest will feature speakers and demonstrations on the main stage on Aug. 12-14.
About 20 industry experts will be presenting the various aspects of the hemp industry, from choosing a variety and how to plant the hemp based on end-use, to cooking with this extremely nutritional food item. A Question/Answer session will also be held on the main stage each day, with a panel of hemp experts answering questions from festival-goers. Replays of speaker presentations will be available in the Info Tent.
Also on the main stage, around twenty bands will be performing in-between the speakers. While many of the entertainers and bands are local favorites, musicians will also be coming from California, Maine, Georgia and the Front Range of Colorado. A wide variety of types of music will be played throughout the weekend.
The first annual Hemp Fest includes a business expo for hemp-related products and local vendors/small businesses, as well as nonprofit booths, which will be ongoing all three days, as well as activities for the entire family.
The primary goals for the festival are: to educate the public about and promote the benefits of hemp; for local and hemp vendors to have a venue filled with people interested in hemp products and the farm-to-consumer cycle; and also for our entertainers, vendors, sponsors, and non-profits to get great exposure and support.
