Recently, you ran an article (Journal, June 28) about Margot Phelps, a young scientist from Cortez who’s very involved with the gravitational waves project at LIGO (Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory) and the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
As the grandparents of Margot, we’ve heard numerous comments about your excellent article, and of course, are pleased with all the compliments, as are her parents Kay and Michael Phelps.
Kay is a professor at Fort Lewis College in the Teacher Education Department with special emphasis on science, and Margot’s ancestry of educators goes back to the 1800s.
Isn’t education wonderful!
