For the high-speed infrastructure, the build out cost of $27 million would be recouped by user fees. So after pay back, what will the tax dollars be used for?
The Mesa Verde Path will get grant money. Using a small part for maintenance, then where will the remaining funds go?
From Kinder Morgan, contributions from carbon dioxide production were $4 million in 2005, $7.2 million in 2008, $14.5 million in 2012 and $18.6 million in 2015. So far there has been a high increase in that revenue.
It seems to me that the county has had no problem increasing the budget every year without consideration to save for high-speed internet or the Mesa Verde Path. So what will convince me that the tax revenue will be put to good use after the two proposed projects are complete?
Is there any chance our commissioners will consider cutting wasteful spending?
