The Dolores Mountain Quilters Guild has scheduled a biennial quilt show, which promises to be an exciting showcase for local quilting artistry.
The show will be held at the Dolores Community Center on Friday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
The show will feature more than 100 quilts, which will be judged by the public in six categories. A quilters boutique will offer many handmade gifts, and door prizes will be drawn each hour. Raffle tickets will be for sale on a stunning king-size quilt titled “98 Stars.” Several vendors will offer fabric, patterns, notions and sewing machines. Tickets are available at the door at $3 per person for ages 16 years and up.
Entries should be pre-registered by Friday, Aug. 8, and will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry registration forms are available from doloresmountainquilters.org (click on quilt show) and emailed to [email protected]. Additional entry information is available on the website.
The Dolores Mountain Quilters Guild gathers monthly to focus on members’ quilting creativity, continuing quilting education for members and the community, support in the form of donated quilts to those in need, show-stopper quilting creations offered to local non-profits for fundraising and annual cash contributions in appreciation of local service organizations.
Visitors and nonmembers are always welcome to attend the guild’s monthly meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month, at 10 a.m. at the Dolores Community Center.
