ROUND AND round and round we go, as a teammate slides in safely at third, Dolores Kolton Shull (foreground) scores one of the Bears seven second-inning runs against Rangely this past Saturday in the 2A-District 2 Tournament at Canyon View Park in Grand Junction. The big inning put Dolores up 7-2, and a 14-run fourth all but finalized the Panthers season. Dolores rolled by a final of 21-4. Paonia, which ousted Ignacio in the tourney opener, humbled the Bears with a 9-6 win in the championship game, but both squads advanced to this weekends 2A-Region 1 phase in Delta. Dolores (15-4 overall) will get things going with Saturdays 10 a.m. matchup against Sargent, tops in District 1, with either Paonia or La Veta awaiting the winner in the title tilt.
