I am writing as president of the Kernan Creek Home Owners Association to express, on behalf of myself and the property owners of Kernan Creek Ranch, our gratitude for the donation of $10,000 for the mitigation of fire risk here in our area.
This project was initiated by Rebecca Samulski, Firewise coordinator for Montezuma County. The project has been completed by Swift Creek Brush Cutters.
We are all very grateful to all who have been involved. The scope of the work was very professionally delineated in detail by Samulski, and likewise professionally executed by Dillon of Swift Creek Brush Cutters.
All indications are that the threat of wildfire has been very substantially reduced, and the ability of firefighters to control what fires may breakout greatly enhanced.
In addition to the above, the appearance of the area has also been greatly enhanced, such that it now is said to be park-like. It is a much greater addition to the beauty of Montezuma County.
We will all sleep much more peacefully on hot summer nights!
