I want to take this opportunity to publicly think our music director, Beverly Hall, and our music students for their outstanding tribute to our veterans. This program is the culmination of months of work, and it was beautiful and moving.

Thank you also to our FFA students who provided escorts. Thank you to our young men and woman who have committed themselves to service after graduation for their presentation of our colors, and the flags of every branch of service. Thank you to the students who read their heartfelt essays and poetry. Thank you to the parents who got their kids to school in the wee hours of the morning for days of practice, and who provided refreshments before the program. Thank you to the teachers and staff who provided support, help, and time to make this program possible. Thank you to the Dolores community for turning out on this wintery day. Thank you to the middle school and high school students who represented our school so well with your outstanding behavior and respect on this solemn occasion.

And most importantly, thank you to the brave men and women who served and who currently serve, for without you, all of this is meaningless. Today’s program is representative of all that is great about America. I am grateful to be part of it.
