The Montezuma-Cortez High School track and field teams were at the Montrose Invitational on Friday at Montrose High School.
The Panthers took eighth-place as a team with 44 points in the 19-team field, while the Lady Panthers placed 11th with 11 points along with Rifle. Glenwood Springs won the girls title with 105 points and Rifle took the boys championship with 81 points.
Max Demby won the long jump for the Panthers at 20-11 and placed seventh in the 100-meter dash in 11.54.
Ashley Lingo won the discus throw for the Lady Panthers with a toss of 127-4 and Randy Elliot was right behind in second at 109-11.
M-CHS hosted the Cortez Invitational at Panther Stadium on Monday. Results werent available at press time. See Thursdays Journal for more.
