For the second year in a row, Grand Avenue from Main Street to Mesa Street in Mancos will be transformed into an outdoor dining venue as part of the Harvest Festival.
The event, which celebrates local food and community, features a pie bake-off contest as well as a potluck dinner.
"It's a partnership between the Mancos Library, the Creative District and Mount Lookout Grange," said Mancos Town Administrator Andrea Phillips. "We close down Grand Avenue, and line it with tables. It's a good way to bring everyone together and celebrate local food."
Attendees of the Sept. 13 event are encouraged to bring their own table, cups, plates, silverware and a dish to share. Pie enthusiasts have the choice of entering their baked creations in the fruit, creme, nut, or savory pie categories. All entries must arrive by 5 p.m., be labeled with name and contact information, as well as the type of pie.
Pie judging begins at 5 p.m., and the potluck dinner begins at 5:30.
