The Mesa Verde Back Country Horsemen would like to thank everyone who has supported our sponsorship of the ACTHA event, to be hosted in September at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds. Unfortunately, we have decided to postpone this event due to the reported cases of vesicular stomatitis in our county. We thought it a wise decision to let this pass before bringing horses together, both locally and from out of state. We plan to look at hosting this event sometime next year. The Mesa Verde Back Country Horsemen is a Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of America. Part of our mission statement is to work to ensure that public lands remain open to recreational stock use and to assist our various government and private agencies in their maintenance and management of our public lands.
