We had seven people scheduled to arrive last week on a Great Lakes flight into Cortez. Great Lakes cancelled the flight and these folks scrambled to find alternate transportation from Denver at a late date.
One couple agreed to arrive two days early. Then they were told that flight was cancelled too.
This is happening more and more frequently. Great Lakes Aviation accepted a federal subsidy to provide service to Cortez. What kind of service is this? Seven people is nearly a full plane. If there are no pilots available, why are they accepting reservations for a flight they know they can’t make?
If they are losing money now, they will be losing more because I will be telling our guests not to book flights on Great Lakes Aviation. I wish this weren’t so.
