Clubhouse may fall

Dolores town officials are considering tearing down the clubhouse at Joe Rowell Park because of disrepair, lack of use, and high-maintenance costs. The building was build in the 1980s and had been used by community groups and as a concessionaire for baseball and softball games. But organized sports in Dolores have declined in the last ten years, and the building has stood vacant for years. Repairing infrastructure problems and handling a mold problem would be costly, said mayor Val Truelsen. If it is torn down, there are no plans for another building, but power and water would be still be available at the site for a concessionaire to use in the future.
