Many people are talking about that new bank that is being built in Dolores. Some people are thinking the bank is too big, while the people who work at the bank think the new bank will be more comfortable, since the old bank was small and crowded. In my opinion, the bank was both a good and bad idea. A lot of people in Dolores think the bank is too big and not Dolores, but the people who work there think the bank could be the start of a new town.
Many people who pass by the new bank while driving through town think the bank is too big for a small town. The construction for this building was huge, a crane had to be brought in. The construction of the bank started in September and only the outside is finished. They havent finished the inside, so they cant move stuff in from the other bank. Soon they can start tearing down the other bank for a parking lot. The construction is taking too long, because who wants to walk by an unfinished bank in May? Some proof that the bank is too big is that it is surrounded by little buildings. This bank is the second largest building in Dolores, so if you look out the window on the second floor, you could probably see most of Dolores. The bank could be the largest building because the other building taller than it that is three stories high with a green roof. I dont think counts because it was abandoned years ago. Its not good if you have a bank taller than the schools main gym. That makes the school look small when the school campus is actually huge considering the fact that I walk on it everyday of the week. Couldnt we have just made a bank that is bigger in length than height?
Some people think this new bank is just not Dolores. Dolores is filled with old, beautiful buildings; than this big new bank comes in and sucks in all the beauty. Every year, this school takes our third graders throughout Dolores to look at the old buildings and learn their story. These stories are loved by people and they love the buildings. The small bank we have now is perfect for our old town Dolores. I think they could have just added on to the old bank rather than building a new, bigger one.
Many people in Dolores are thinking negative about the new bank, but some people think positive about it. Most of the people who work at the bank think the new bank will be better because it will give them more room to work. Their offices in the other bank were about 5 feet wide. Bigger space means more workers. Maybe they will have an opening and a lot of people will apply because they are in the new bank and there will be more room to work in. The new space will make the workers more comfortable. Maybe the bank will get new desks and chairs so the workers can put more stuff in their office.
In my opinion, the bank could be the start of a new town. The bank could start a chain of new buildings throughout Dolores. The people would love the bank so much that they would want more new buildings and make the town more modern. This town wont just be a little town you pass by. The town will become new, modern, and bigger if this bank starts a chain of new buildings. Then again, this town could become a travel spot because of all the old buildings.
Could this new bank anger people or be the start of a new town? To make people happy, we couldve just added to the old bank to keep it old and new at the same time. This probably wouldve made people happier than they are now. Next time this town wants something new, just build more than destroy and build bigger. Keep the town Dolores the way it is, but dont let new buildings take away all the beauty. Did the construction of the new bank make this town better? I dont know now, but in the near future, the people of Dolores could decide.
