Get ready for a busy few weeks if you are a parent or student or fan of the Dolores School District.
First, don't miss "Horatio will be Late." The Dolores Schools has some very talented drama students, and the show opens Saturday at 7 p.m. I am told by the director, that you shouldn't miss it, but you can catch it Sunday at 2 p.m. or Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. or Dec. 14 at 2 p.m.
Also, don't miss the Dolores Secondary Schools Band and Choir Concert at 6 p.m.
The Elementary Winter Program will be Dec. 18 this year at 7 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gym.
Jump rope for heart
Students at Dolores Elementary School are gearing up for the annual Jump Rope for Heart, sponsored by the American Heart Association. The event raises awareness and money for the American Hearth Association. Children spend the day jumping rope and earn money for the American Heart Association. They also learn the importance of activity and a healthy heart.
Destination Imagination
All students and coaches, grades two through 12, who are interested in Destination Imagination should attend an information meeting in the Little Bear Gym on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. Destination Imagination is an avenue for learning teamwork, communication, creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Join us for information about grade-level teams, trying out some DI activities, and coaching opportunities. If you have questions, please call Sue Garlick at 970-739-1049.
Order your Bear wear
The Dolores Bears Booster Club is placing a winter order for Dolores Bears hoodies, T-shirts, fleece vests and jackets. Hoodies and T-shirts are available in black, gray, and red. Fleece jackets and vests are available in black or red. We also have plaid flannel pants available in black or red, as well as sweats and yoga pants in black. Orders and money are due to the high school office no later than Friday, Dec. 5 to have items ready for Christmas. See items and forms by going to doloresschools.org/boosterclub/.
