Principal Sherri Maxwell said it will be a fun night for all parents and their children.
The night starts with free dinner and live music by the bees knees, the husband/wife Dolores duo of Glenn and Kristi Smith.
The dinner will be feature a slide show of students this fall. Families are asked to bring cookies or brownies to share for dessert.
The evening will continue from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with breakout sessions.
Child care will be provided and the sessions include: positive parenting strategies, a family cooking class, teacher workshops with activities for kids and a free family photo booth with instant pictures.
At 7:10 p.m., there will be prize drawings. There is free spirit sticks for all students who come. Prizes include train tickets, dinner and lodging at Mesa Verde, a night at the Jersey Jim Lookout Tower, a night at the Mancos State Park Yurt and more.
Elementary food drive
The Dolores Elementary School Food Drive will run from Nov. 3 to Nov. 21. The food donated will be used to help families in the school community. The class that collects the most items will each win a prize.
Carnival success
The Halloween Carnival hosted by the Dolores Middle School/High School PTO was a resounding success. For the first time ever, the carnival was held at the District Office headquarters in the middle of town. It was so well received, it was actually difficult to move around. This was a great event for Halloween goers of all ages.
