Nov. 4 election is around the corner
Mail-in ballots for the Nov. 4 general election will be sent to active registered voters to the address on their voter registration the week of Oct. 12.
To update your address or to register, visit www.GoVoteColorado.com or the county clerk’s office, 140 W. Main St., Suite 1, Cortez.
Voters may drop off a completed ballot at the clerk’s office or sign the back of the envelope, add postage and mail it.
Montezuma County has three polling centers where voters may vote in person, update records, request a replacement ballot and register.
One will be at the clerk’s office, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 and Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be drops at the Dolores and Mancos libraries Nov. 4, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Signed ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. Nov. 4 to be counted.

Hisatsinom Chapter hosts author
The Hisatsinom Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society will present Erica Olsen on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at Methodist Church, 515 Park Street, Cortez, to discuss “Cultural Material: Writing About Archaeology.”

League of Women host Suckla
The League of Women Voters of Montezuma County will meet on Oct. 11 at 9 am at the Ponderosa Restaurant in Dolores. The guest will be Montezuma County commissioner Larry Don Suckla.
There are four issues on the November ballot. The Colorado League of Women Voters has published a Ballot Issues pamphlet that explains the pros and cons of the issues. The pamphlets are available at Cortez, Dolores, and Mancos public libraries and other locations.
