The Louisville, Colorado-based company said it had net income of 2 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 1 cent per share.
The lifestyle media company posted revenue of $18.9 million in the period.
Gaiam shares have climbed 17% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $11.52, a rise of 30% in the last 12 months.
