Echo Basin Resort’s seasonal bar and grill in Mancos will reopen May 7.
After shutting down last October because of a slowdown in business, owner Tom Carr feels that people are once again ready to visit the resort located in the foothills of the San Juan Mountains.
“It’s the summer season,” Carr said. “Things are starting to reopen again after a horrible last year. It looked like it’s a good time.”
Carr has owned the resort for five years.
The restaurant will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The resort’s RV park was one of the few offerings to remain open over the past several months.
As of May 7, visitors will also be able to rent out the resort’s rustic A-frame or deluxe cooking cabins.
“We’re regrouping and reopening for hopefully what’s a busier year,” Carr said.
