Despite significant damage to both vehicles, there were no reported injuries in a crash Thursday near the Handy Mart on South Broadway in Cortez.
According to police officer Joseph Yen, a man turning left into the Handy Mart crashed into a woman’s car that was northbound on South Broadway about 2:30 p.m.
Both drivers were driving white four-door sedans, and neither was transported to the hospital.
Yen told The Journal that the woman said she felt “a little pain,” but did not require medical attention.
The man reported no injury, and police said neither alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
Police officers directed traffic around the crash scene. The vehicles were towed and debris was swept aside by roughly 3:15 p.m.
Members of the Cortez Police Department and Cortez Fire Protection District responded to the scene.
