For the second time last weekend, an animal got tangled in electrical equipment, but this time just fewer than 700 county residents lost power, and the animal – possibly a raptor – may have only lost its tail feathers.
The outage began about 4:20 p.m. Sunday, but power was restored by 5:10.
Another animal that got into a substation last Friday night caused the power to go out for about 4,200 city and county residents.
Electricity went out about 10:42 p.m., leaving residents along U.S. Highway 160 west, the Tech Center, Crestview neighborhood, northwest part of Main Avenue and the Trimble area in the dark until 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
