Cortez City Hall reopened for regular business hours Monday after an extended closure meant to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The city had previously planned on reopening on Jan. 18, but extended the closure another week to reduce close contact between people in an effort to reduce community transmission of COVID-19 amid rising infection rates.
City Hall will be open and staffed Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Other facilitiesThe Cortez Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for curbside only. Call the library at 565-8117 for questions regarding resources or checking out books.The Cortez Police Department will have its front doors locked to mitigate congregating in the front lobby; however, staff will attend to citizens who ring at the front door.The Cortez Service Center will be back open with regular operating hours 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.The Cortez Recreation Center will operate in a limited capacity from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
